Fall 2025 Update

PRAYING IN THE POWER OF JESUS’ NAME

“Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow… and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord” (Philippians 2:9-11).

All of us have a name; it’s our identity. Names have meaning. Our newest granddaughter was named “Sadie Brave” because “Sadie” means princess of high worth and “Brave” because she entered this world a month early (on June 4th)! Many names carry influence, authority, or fame—some with titles and degrees. In biblical times, names were given to reflect a person’s purpose, function, and lineage.

The name Jesus literally means God saves! It’s derived from the same Hebrew name as Joshua—Moses’ successor, who led the Israelites into the Promised Land. Jesus leads us into the true Promised Land, Heaven, through His death and resurrection. His name is above all names!

Throughout the Gospels, demons fled, storms calmed, and diseases vanished all at the name and command of Jesus. That same name has been given to us—His followers—not as a magic word, but as a key to access His presence and authority. “Jesus” is power! We can plug into the power of Jesus’ name and overcome every obstacle.

The name of Jesus is our anchor in the storm. It’s our shield in spiritual battles. It’s our song in the night. When spoken in faith, His name brings Heaven’s authority into our earthly situations. Declare His name over the battles we’re facing and don’t understand. Whether we whisper it in pain or cry it out in desperation, His name holds the same power that raised Him from the dead. There is no situation too dark, too broken, or too hopeless that the name of Jesus cannot reach. Speak His name and let “Jesus” be the first word on our lips in confidence, before anxiety takes over. His name brings life, peace, and salvation that has unmatched authority and glory!

Check out these powerful Bible verses below that testify to that:

Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three are gathered together in MY NAME, there am I in the midst of them.”

John 14:13-14 “Whatever you will ask in MY NAME, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in MY NAME, I will do it.”

Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon THE NAME OF THE LORD shall be saved.”

Colossians 3:17 “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in THE NAME OF THE LORD JESUS, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”

James 5:14 “Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in THE NAME OF THE LORD.”

Heaven moves when His name is spoken in faith. We can speak the power of Jesus’ name boldly in prayer! It’s a privilege that touches our Father’s heart. Let’s enjoy that privilege together October 21st as we bring our Palau family and staff before our Lord in praise, thanksgiving, and prayer for all they have done and are doing for the Gospel and His Kingdom.

In the powerful name of Jesus,

Gail Stockamp

"So that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Thessalonians 1:12).
