Greetings to our MANHATTAN Prayer Warriors,
"GOOD NEWS IN THE CITY!"
Thank you for "standing in the gap" (Ezekiel 22:30) on behalf of the Luis Palau Campaign in NYC and Kevin Palau, director of the MANHATTAN City/Serve/Festival Teams.
The battle is on and victory belongs to Him!
Do not give up and remember to "sound the trumpet," set your alarms for 9:38 to "Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field." Matthew 9:38
The leadership committee will declare a daily fast to cover each region beginning in May. (Saturdays for our Manhattan Prayer Team). Details to follow:
"I proclaimed a fast, so that we might humble ourselves before our God and ask Him for a safe journey for us and our children, with all our possessions...So we fasted and petitioned our God about this, and He answered our prayers." Ezra 9:21,23
If you missed the monthly prayer call last Tuesday, here is a review of our praise and prayer requests. Also, I included a little history/devotional about the "Great Awakening" of the 1730's. May it be an encouragement to all of us preparing the way for the King of glory to come in to Central Park on July 11th, on the "Great Lawn!"
Tonight there were a few more "special requests," as you continue to "join in agreement" in praying for revival in NYC and our Nation! The mighty harvest is on the way!
"On Him we have set our hope that He will continue to deliver is, as you help us by your prayers. Then many will give thanks on our behalf for the gracious favor granted us in answer to the prayers of many." 2 Corinthians 1:10-11
"Let's continue to storm heavens doors for NYC. Don't let up, don't lose heart. Victory will be the Lord's as this is His plan, not ours. We are only stewards of this moment to see a waive of blessing and transformation all over the Tri-State area." Tim Innes (Campaign Director/NY CityServe/CityFest)
Pray today for:
1.Women's Team (Wendy Palau and her sister, Amanda) planning for a June 1st dinner/outreach. Pray that the women would get excited...really fired up to reach lost women in their city! And, that the women will step up and take leadership positions to make this event powerful and effective. As Wendy has said, "Time and time again, I have seen God put us together with people at a perfect time for them and for us!"
2. Business Event: June 9-again pray for table hosts and all details.
3. Publicity for all events and clear messages across the board.
4. Thousands of believers to stand up and be counted-training for counselors being set for May and June in every region.
7. Key links with Media and "God (good) stories" to bring overall impact to the vision.
8. All the staff working on NY directly. It's 85 days till July 11th and it is like there is a crusade every week. They need strength, stamina, joy, focus and most of all to be spirit-filled and led.
9. Luis, Kevin, Andrew, Wendy as they each pour their gifts into God's plan!
"See, the Lord Your God has given you the land. Go up and take possession of it as the Lord, the God of your fathers, told you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Deuteronomy 1:21
"Then I said to you, 'Do not be terrified; do not be afraid of them. The Lord your God who is going before you, will fight for you, as He did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place.'" Deuteronomy 1:29
"Then this city (NYC) will bring me renown, joy, praise and honor before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it." Jeremiah 33:9
"The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will fulfill the gracious promise I made to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah." Jeremiah 33:14
"Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear had perceived, no eye has seen any God besides You, who acts on behalf of those who wait for Him." Isaiah 64:4
From Nancy Leigh DeMoss' devotional that says, "During the Great Awakening of the 1730's, the Spirit of God moved in our Nation…”
There was such a hunger for the Word of God that about 20,000 people showed up to hear George Whitfield preach in Boston...and that was when Boston had a population of only 12,000. People travelled from miles around to "repent" and seek God. If you were to take the percentage of people who responded to the First Great Awakening and apply it to today's population, the figures would be staggering. For example, Chicago has a population of over 9 million. If God were to move today in a way similar to the way He did in the 1730's, over 14 million people would show up in Chicago to hear the Gospel. (I wonder what the number would be in NYC, with a population of 8.4 million! )?
The First Great Awakening brought a dramatic change in the social, moral and spiritual climate of the day. And, God could do it again in our day! "
God can do it again in NYC in July!
Dear Heavenly Father,
As one of our directors in NYC, Tim Innes, has said, "The army of God in NYC is preparing for this great battle of souls. We are into the final 90 days and many outreaches now ahead. These outreaches are stones in the preparations that will make a huge impact in NYC. Our team in NYC and the tri-state area are working hard, he said, and there are no exceptions."
We are seeing the fruit of their labor, as we continue to present our praise reports and prayer requests to You, O Lord!
Praise Report from Kevin Palau:
We praise You, Lord, that over Easter weekend the 5 Easter Egg hunt groups of churches put on in MANHATTAN, the Bronx and NJ drew more than 11,000 folks, and for the many hearing the Good News and being invited to church.
We thank You, JESUS, for the answer to prayer on behalf of the "Right to Gather" (and worship in NYC's public schools) for the Supreme Court's decision. Mayor Di Blasio is now willing to write up a document NOT to evict the CHURCHES from meeting in public schools!
We Praise You, Lord, also for the opportunities 2 weeks ago for Luis to share the Good News with 140 ambassadors and diplomats @ UN!
Also, for the 1,100 radio partners signed up to help with NY CityFest.
And, for the great gathering of Spanish speaking Pastors and leaders this past week.
We thank You, Lord, for more than 17k people now connected to NYC on social media in both English and Spanish!
We praise You and thank You, Lord, for Kevin Palau's book that is at the printer's now and ask You to bless and establish the work of His hands for Your glory and honor!
Also, we pray for the Catholic Business Dinner on April 21st with Luis Palau.
Deuteronomy 9: 1,3 says, "Hear, O Israel,: You are about to cross the Jordan to go in and dispossess nations greater and stronger than you, with large cities that have walls up to the sky. But be assured today (On July 11, 2015) that the Lord your God is the One who goes across ahead of you."
"Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give them. Joshua told the people, ' Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.'" Joshua 3:5
Bless all events, Lord, and may the fire of the Holy Spirit be on all who are working tirelessly, tilling the soil; rejuvenate Your People. May all activities hit the mark. Let Your glory fall, pour out Your Spirit and prepare hearts and souls to come in and we pray for the harvest to be great!
Joshua 6:20-21 says, "When the trumpet sounded, the people shouted, and at the sound of the trumpet...the wall collapsed...and they took the city (July 11, 2015). They devoted (New York) city to the Lord."
