Dear Praying Friends in the Southwest,

Praise God with us as we thank Him for all He is doing in Brooklyn and all of the greater NYC area! He is moving and we are blessed to be a part. Thank you for praying on behalf of the lost and on behalf of those reaching out to bring them the truth and reality of Jesus’ love for them!

Thanksgiving for:

The Re:New meetings, specifically the one which took place at Brooklyn Tabernacle on Friday, February 13! More than 3,100 people braved the 18 degree weather in order to come hear Luis, Francis Chan and the Passion Band. The Spirit of God was evident, the movement of His hand obvious as people were refreshed, renewed and challenged in the Gospel!
Randy Burtis, our Church Relations Directory in Brooklyn, and his continued healing after a sudden eye injury which led to surgery. God has been faithful in this time!

Supplication:

We ask that those challenged with the call to share the Gospel and grow God’s kingdom at Re:New will stay strong in this fight! Ask that they would find a place to actively be involved in ministering in their neighborhoods through CityServe. Pray that they would be asking the Lord for those whom they would specifically be a part of influencing for His kingdom. May they be faithful in following God’s prompting to invite these people to come out and experience the Gospel.
Continue to pray for the 4 Brooklyn mini-festivals being planned in Sunset Park, Bushwick, Williamsburg, and Canarsie. Ask for spiritual and physical protection over those planning these events, as well as, all the details and the parks themselves- that God’s Word can go forth!
Continue to ask God to bless the education and criminal justice initiatives occurring in Brownsville and Bedford-Stuyvesant.
Pray for the immigration clinics in Canarsie and those, primarily Haitian people, being served there.

Beth Moore wrote on her blog earlier this month a powerful message. Here is part of her inspirational message, which is for all of us, for "such a time as this!"

We've got to pray. We've got to become people of prayer. We've got to press in much further and believe God to be much bigger. We've got to cease letting prayer be our weakest spiritual discipline. We've got to step up and wield the sword of the spirit in relentless intercession. We've got to go further than we've gone before. Press harder. Dig our knees deeper. We will not live bolder than we pray. There are parts of our callings, works of the Holy Spirit, and defeats of the darkness that will come no other way than furious, fervent, faith filled prayer.

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Hebrews 11:8
